FAQ
Golf Massage in Vancouver, WA
To help you find what you need quickly, general questions are listed first, followed by insurance and recovery-related information.
Q1. Why are standard sessions 90 minutes?
A 90-minute session allows sufficient time for proper assessment, hands-on
treatment, and recovery support—without rushing.
This session length provides the flexibility needed to address pain, movement
limitations, and performance-related goals in a single visit.
Focused 60-minute sessions are offered selectively when clinically appropriate, but
the 90-minute session remains the foundation of care.
Q2. What type of massage therapy do you offer?
At Yaima Massage & Movement, I specialize in:

Q3. Do you only work with golfers?
No. While many clients are golfers, I also work with athletes from other sports, active
adults, and individuals recovering from injury or managing chronic pain.
My approach is movement-based and performance-focused, regardless of sport or
activity level.

Yes. Services are available in English and Japanese. Clients from diverse
backgrounds are welcome.
Q8. I’m a golfer. How can your services help my game?
Using Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) screening, I assess how your body moves
and identify physical limitations that may affect your swing or contribute to pain.
This golf massage–informed approach combines movement assessment with customized hands-on therapy and corrective exercises when appropriate.
You may receive:
-
A movement assessment
-
Customized hands-on massage therapy
-
Corrective exercises when appropriate
The goal is to help you move better, swing more efficiently, and play longer with less
pain.
Q9. Is your TPI-based session the same as golf swing coaching?
No. My TPI-based sessions are not golf swing coaching.
I use Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) screening to assess physical movement.
patterns, mobility, stability, and limitations that may affect performance or contribute
to pain.
When appropriate, I work as part of your performance or healthcare team,
complementing the work of golf coaches, physical therapists, or other providers.
I do not teach swing mechanics or provide technical swing instruction.
Q10. Do you accept insurance?
Yes. I accept Regence and UnitedHealthcare (UHC) for massage therapy only, with
medical necessity and a current prescription from a qualified healthcare provider.
Q11. Is a prescription required to use insurance?
Yes. All insurance-based sessions require a current prescription (referral) from an
MD, Chiropractor, Physical Therapist, or other eligible provider.
The prescription must include a diagnosis code.
As a Washington State Licensed Massage Therapist, I cannot diagnose conditions or provide diagnosis codes.
Insurance-based appointments can be scheduled once the prescription and
updated insurance card are received and verified.
Q12. Why do you offer Red Light Therapy (RLT) and Hydrogen Gas Inhalation?
These services are used as supportive recovery modalities to complement hands-
on massage and movement-based care.
RLT supports cellular energy and tissue recovery, while hydrogen gas helps reduce
oxidative stress and supports the body’s natural recovery processes.
Q13. How long are RLT and Hydrogen Gas Inhalation, and can they be used together?
Yes. Red Light Therapy (RLT) and Hydrogen Gas Inhalation can be used together
during a 90-minute massage session when clinically appropriate.
-
Red Light Therapy (RLT): approximately 15 minutes
-
Hydrogen Gas Inhalation: approximately 15–30 minutes
Both are integrated into the 90-minute session based on your treatment goals and
individual needs.
Q14. What is your cancellation policy?
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will be charged the full service fee.
